Cable/Television
What does everyone use for their cable?

I know there is Cogeco, but are there are other cable providers?

Who really needs cable when you have the Internet, right?

Besides, if all your housemates have laptops, there'll never be any arguments over settling on one show to watch.

Not all sports are streamed live...

Oh good point...maybe ask a friend to DVR it? Still, it's not as much fun as watching it live ^^

Yep, that's the only reason why we are getting cable. To watch live sports ^-^

I had a few friends that lived on the mountain because they went to Mohawk & they used Mountain Cable. They were getting cable & internet together for $48/month, which is a steal IMO.

I think the only choices we have down by Mac are Cogeco, Rogers, & Bell. Which all like to rob people of their money

bell is only like $18/month for basic (either digital or hd) then you can rent a receiver for $3/month (if you get hd then its $10/month), i think thats a pretty good price.

I don't think Rogers offers services in Hamilton...but the "Mountain Cable" sounds pretty good!

I don't own a TV or have cable service and I haven't had it for 2 years (going on 3). I lived with family in first year, so that doesn't count.

If you're really cheap, you could just use an antenna. You should get maybe 2 or 3 years of use before they become useless :p.

Hmm... if Bell doesn't offer in your area, that means all their subletters (i.e. TekSavvy) may not be offered either. If that's the case, your only option may be Cogeco (I think you're too far away for MountainCable).

I would give TekSavvy a call if I were you though, because they have some of the best customer service and best price deals (200 GB of bandwidth a month ). They'll tell you if they can service you based on your phone number.

Here is TekSavvy's toll free number: 1-877-779-1575

Good luck!

thanks for the advice. however, i checked out their packages and they only offer speeds of 5 mb/s. their limits are great though. the problem is it will be split 6 ways and 5 mb/s probably wont cut it.
