cable in bedroom
How would I go about getting cable tv in my bedroom? (In Bates)

I'm thinking of going with cogeco, i think that's whats already in the living rooms, so do I just pay for them to extend it into my room, or do I pay for my own plan entirely? There's already a cable in the wall in the room so can they just enable it over the phone or do they have to come in and actually set it up? Has anyone ever done this, and what was the pricing like?

Cable TVCable TV is in every common room/lounge and the connections are also in Bates and Mary E. Keyes living rooms. You can also have cable TV in your bedroom (except bedrooms in Mary E. Keyes & Les Prince Hall) but you need to provide your own TV and call the local cable company to make arrangements at your cost. COGECO cable services can be contacted at 905-333-5522 or view the COGECO web site at www.cogeco.com
That's all the information Housing gives on Cable TV. I assume all Cogeco needs is your building and room number.

there is no point. You will not watch as much tv as you think. You will either have too much work, be too busy socializing, or will just watch tv on the internet when you do get a break. If you need to watch it live just watch it in the common room.

I lived in Bates last year, and we didnt really watch TV all that much. You definitely wont have time to. We occasionally watched TV, but most of the time we just downloaded them and watched on our computers later, when we had time. My roommates had fewer morning classes than I did, so occasionally they would watch the morning news while eating breakfast. The TV we had was mainly used for playing GTA, SSB Brawl, and NFS:Most Wanted.

I lived in Bates last year too, and had my tv in the living room. I like to watch tv and use my computer at the same time, which is impossible in Bates, because there's no wireless internet and no internet plug in the living room. I did watch a LOT of online tv but sometimes you want to watch a show when it's on and not have to wait

I guess I'll just give cogeco a call when I move in
