TekSavvy Cable!
Alright. So cable internet offered by teksavvy has started in the toronto area, and should be in hamilton around june-august. Therefore, everyone should switch to their cable service next year if your living in hamilton, just look at these whopping prices and offers!

Service Down Up Gig Cap Price
TekSavvy
Lite Cable 3 Mbps 256 K 200 $27.95
TekSavvy
Express Cable 10 Mbps 512 K 200 $36.95
TekSavvy
Extreme Cable 10 Mbps 1 Mbps 200 $42.95
TekSavvy
Extreme Cable Pro 10 Mbps 1 Mbps Unlimited $54.95

I would suggest either Extreme or Unlimited for most houses. Enjoy!

Wow....this deal is amazing compared to Cogeco. $20 less per month and unlimited bandwith vs cogeco's 125GB cap. The speeds aren't as high, but Cogeco never actually gives you their advertised speed so it makes no difference.

PS How did you find out when it will be in the Hamilton area?

Whats teksavy? How long has it been around and is reliable? Our family has been with sympatico for years and I'm not so sure about switching, but recently our speeds has been very poor...

rcrw88. Teksavy is a reseller of sympatico. They have the best customer service without a doubt. As for reliability, they rely on sympatico. They are prolly the best providers out there right now for the price

A lot of friends have it and have no bad reviews. I dont think anyone on the internet has bad reviews about them actually.
Only reason im still staying with sympatico is because the free wifi at starbucks and stuff is quiet convenient

Oh wow, they modified their offered cable services a few days ago. Before there was no extreme service and a 60 GB cap (which is obviously bullshit :p).

I'm gonna stick with their DSL service just cause I'm too lazy to fix all the cable wiring in my house, but that's great nontheless!

Wow, this is some awesome news. Those bandwidth caps alone make it very tempting to swtich from Cogeco. Damn Cogeco and their 30GB a month!!

Also maybe Cogeco will do some adjustments to be competitive with these awesome offers from Teksavvy?

I find cable internet to be so misleading with their speeds.

1. Your telephone line is connected directly to your service provider. The speed that's offered is the speed you get. The speed is slower due to the type of wires though.

2. You cable line is connected to a cable box somewhere in your neighbourhood which is then connected to your service provider. The farther away you are from your service provider the more branching there is. The more people there are using the same service as you, the more branching there is. Therefore the speed you told you are getting is not the same as the actual speed you are getting.

I've had rogers cable internet in Toronto when it first came out, yeah it was incredibly fast at first. But it wasn't long when a lot of people started switching and my family noticed how slow the internet was getting, like snail speed.

We had tekksavvy last year in my house.
I don't know why our internet had so many problems. It would connect for 2 seconds and disconnect. I have to say their customer service is AMAZING! They sent me a new modem, sent bell out to me like 5 times, but my internet still sucked. If anything i would go with them again and tell Bell to suck it. They however rent the lines from Bell so if there is something wrong with the lines they cannot touch them, it is bell's responsibility which is very annoying.

Cable isnt bell. Cable is using rogers/cogeco.

If DSL with teksavvy sucks, it just means Bell sucks, due to poor wiring.

Its not that bad really. If I do go over its only about 4-5GB but I guess it does add up at the end of the year.

As soon as cable is offered by teksavvy in my area though I'm definitely going to look into switching. 200GB!!!

Yeah. 10mbps down, 200GB cap, $35 a month... awesome!
