Well, are you all planning on torrenting / playing games simultaneously? People who just check there email, go on MSN .etc tend to use next to no bandwidth.

we should have a thread for posting links of streaming sports games online. strictly for that only... i think that would be pretty cool!

television is limited..
If you are talking strictly cable for television - you are limited by the area you live in. Cogeco pretty much rules the lower city, and Mountain Cable and the Source take the mountain depending on where you live. You have NO choice - it is strictly by where you live.

Internet is another matter altogether. Choose what you want.

TekSavvy has some of the best service out of any company I've ever had to deal with. The last time I called, the tech support guy literally told me how to get around the throttling Bell imposes on their lines for torrents. It was awesome :p.

I agree, the people at teksavvy were also very patient. I was setting up my modem today and they stayed on line with me during the whole process. They didn't whine or anything and sent out a very positive vibe. By far the best customer service I've ever experienced.

You could try this as an alternative to cable:

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/762088...ought_amazing/

Amazingly this works very, very well. Using #10 Cu wire is a better option to coat hangars. Doing this substitution brings the total cost to around $50.

Someone I know did this and gets something like 20 digital stations. I don't think you can get HD with basic cable, but it's free over-the-air (from certain providers such as Global and CTV). If you don't mind giving up premium channels and have a good view of the East and South (for Toronto and Buffalo stations), this is totally the way to go. (We should be studying anyway, right? ;-)
