Calculators for Engineers
Alright so I heard that it's a good idea to get a graphing calculator when in engineering since it'll help with the homework. Anyone know if that's true?
Also I was told that we have to use a McMaster approved calculator, and I heard that it was the Casio FX-991. Anyone know to confirm this calculator?

That's the only calculator you can use in tests and exams

Yup. You can only use the Casio for tests and exams. If you want a graphing calculator to help with homework and whatnot, you can use it if you wish.

I didn't use a graphing calculator last year at all. I would wait until to get to class before you go and buy one

For the Casio FX-991, other than Titles, where else can I find it? Will it be cheaper at another store?

I found one at Staples. I'm pretty sure that it's available in most stores that sell calculators. As for price, I don't know how much it is at Titles so I can't compare it.

I would advise you to do your graphing on the computer. There are many free programs online to help you graph, or you can use MS Excel. Plus, many assignments and labs are typed on the computer, so you'll have to graph it on your PC anyways.
Don't buy it until you know you need it, otherwise you'll be wasting money.

Yup. In the hammer, and my calcumalator is in my lap. It's a Casio fx991MS.

Oh if you are talking about the fx991MX approved by McMaster for tests, then you definitely need it. I thought you were talking about a graphing calculater that costs >$125
