Call of Duty: Mw2 Pc?
Hey, I've been pretty interested in coming to some of these events, but tbh I don't really play 1.6 or dota very much. I figure that a lot of people play MW2 PC and would like to see some organized games. The zero gear workaround still works I believe (allows you to play LAN ) Also, I've noticed a few others who know about this club, but decided not to go due to the game selection as well.

In terms of game selection it is all up to the players. If you can provide me with the files ahead of time for testing, i can make it distributable. Im willing to host any game/files over our network. I will say however, not everyone has a laptop suitable for higher end gaming, so getting people to join your matches is up to you or bring enough of your friends to play with over our gigabit network. We typically play older games so everyone in the room can get involved in the matches but its fine to break off into groups.

How big is the game installed (and compressed to a .rar/.zip file if you are able to)? I know the specs say 12+gb free harddrive space but i assume that accounts for swap files and such.

Last night at the IRC lan party, we played Quake III arena, Team Fortress 2, Age of empires II, Starcraft, warcraft 3: Battleships & DOTA, and CS 1.6 / CSS. Have you seen the game list: http://www.maclanclub.com/gamelist.txt
That is the list of files we have available at our events already.

edit: I downloaded modern warfare 1 (2 is far too huge) and i must say it is quite fun... and the graphic effects are awesome. My x1600 dedicated card in my laptop could play it at about 20-30fps on 1280x800 resolution with details on medium.... I would guess anyone with a modern non intel based chipset could run the game at low settings and still get decent frames, as the x1600 is an older card nowadays. At our next event i will try to get some players to try it out..
