gone or good?

If gone, 10 years ago he would have been a lot better.
If good, apparently even 3 years ago he was pretty strict.

The key thing is that he has gotten himself into a bit of a rut with some of the classes. He taught them so long he got comfortable.

As for how you'll do on the exam, all I remember was that the stuff he told the few people who went to his last week of lectures pretty much was exactly what was on the exam. It's going to be tough, but livable.

Oh I meant gone as in, they would have found somebody else.

Heh, I went to almost all of his classes... and he taught pretty much up until the very last day :(. Our "review" was about 30 minutes of the very last class, and him saying that everything we've ever learned could be on it. It took him 30 minutes to say that because of his epic stuttering problem .

You failed with a 59.7%?

Did you mean 49.7%?

I thought 50% is a pass in all engineering courses?

He means he got 59.7% cumulative, but probably failed the exam.

I guess it's fair in some instances. I know a lot of douchebags who just copy all the assignments for things, and then get killed on the exam. Then again though, it's hard to screen them out from people who legitimately did all the assignments, but just pulled a sylvan-learning-center when it came to the exam.

Well, that's like saying Warren Buffet wouldn't have become a billionaire if his investments didn't pan out.

His research papers are the reason why he's a prof. No one gets tenure on the merits of their teaching.

lol
people think engineering is difficult. I just think engineers are stupid.

srsly. who cares how the class does, it's all about how well you do.

if the tests are unfair that's one thing, you can complain. but if the tests are reasonable (i.e. at least one person gets 90+) then you should just study more. idiots.

trolling by limp bizkit is my theme song.

and I was actually being serious. about 80% (made-up statistic based on personal observations) of engineers at Mac are dumb.

No matter how good is this guy in research, he should have been stopped teaching. If he is good at research, he should only work in research and be prevented from destroying students and their careers. I guess it is all because of the stupid policy of universities that let such people stay in their positions.
Anyway, if you are able to get an old exam, it'll mostly be the same as I heard from a very old student. The only problem is that I can't seem to find one.
