I'm asking this question for a friend who is in a predicament money-wise, yet still really wants to experience residence. She is already signed up and everything for residence, but was wondering if you are able to cancel your living arrangements after one semester and get half your money back (or stop making payments if you're on such a payment plan). I know there is a "withdrawal policy" for Mac housing, but I still can't get a straight answer... does anybody know for sure if this is or isn't possible?

Not sure how to go about it, but I do believe it's possible. My friend went into res and, after thinking it stupid, left at the end of 1st semester. Got money back, etc.

You would talk to Housing & Conferences about this.

I know a person who got in for the second semester - he gave up on commuting.
