CAS Personal Webpage
So I'm trying to create a webpage on the CAS servers, but I'm having permission issues. I've tried to ssh into both mills and moore. Created a folder called public_html in my directory, and set the permissions to 711. But I get an error saying "Webpage not accessible" when I try to access it. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try renaming your starter page to index.html

Already done. Everything is there, it just seems like a permission issue

On your directory where you have your index_html, can you run "ls -lrt"
without the quotes and post the output here as well as inside the index_html directory.

Okay, try this out.

chmod go+r index.html

Then on the parent directory that has public_html, use this:

chmod go+rx public_html

GCSM says thanks to VastHorizon for this post.

Great that worked! Thanks.

So it looks like file permissions need to be set at 755, instead of 711.

Thanks again

user needs to have permission to read the file, 711 doesn't allow that
