Changing programs/transfering 2nd year??
Hi, I applied for kinesiology but I don't think I'll get accepted (I'll have an 87 when midterms come along and I believe the cut off last year was an 88). If I don't get accepted, will Mac offer me another program to enter? I heard that some schools do that. If not, the only other program I applied to Mac for was business. Is there any chance I could transfer over into kin 2nd year from business?
Also, I applied for waterloo's kin program and I'm pretty sure I'll get in there as the admission average is only in the low 80's. If I go to Waterloo first year do you think I could transfer over to Mac for 2nd year?

Sorry for the long post, but any input would be greatly appreciated!!! :-)

1. mac doesn't make alternate offers as far as I know
2. it would be really difficult to switch from business to kin as the courses dont overlap at all. you'd pretty much just be wasting a year in business and would need really high grades so it is not a good idea.
3. transferring from waterloo may be possible if the first year courses are comparable / you could get transfer credits. you'd have to ask someone in the kin department about that as I don't think it happens often.

your best bet is to just wait and see if you get an offer. if you don't, and you're set on kin, then go to waterloo. if you MUST attend mcmaster due to family/financial reasons but dont want business then maybe a year off working and upgrading some courses would be an option. good luck!

Ditto to all this.

When I was applying to Mac, they ONLY made alternate offers for people who got rejected from Health Sci (and the alternate offer was Life Sci).
Not sure if that's changed since, but I don't think it has.
