Changing Rooms
I got into a quad room but now I realized I kinda want a double or a triple...if I call the residence number and talk to them would it be too late to switch?

Unfortunately they do not allow for people to switch rooms. A quad may seem undesirable now but you will learn to love it when you move in.

The reason for not being able to switch is because if Housing and Conference changed it for you, then they have to change it for every single one who does not want a quad, a double, a single, or a triple (or for any reason). Maning, there'd be chaos everywhere, and we're left with no system to work with.

A quad may seem intimidating at first, but once you get to know your roommates, that's when it all starts. You don't have to be the best of roommates, but really, that's how you start building your social network beyond your faculty programs. It's really what makes a rez experience.. a rez experience!

Generally, quads are the 'least' desirable, so there's probably no chance of switching. I know someone a couple of years ago who got an apartment res in Bates, but she really wanted a traditional double (and hadn't put down any apartment or suite styles on her application), and they were able to switch her into a double. It wasn't that difficult for her to switch, because there were many people who had been put in doubles that wanted apartment or suite style. It can't hurt to try, but I wouldn't be too optimistic about it.
