i lived in west village last year, the place where charlie west is and it was pretty darn clean, however i dont think they have single rooms, they have double rooms tho if you find a friend and it wouldnt be as expensive oh and also they have someone clean the room every 2 weeks which was great in case one of your roommates was messy lol

It helps too to get to know the landlord. My landlady takes very good care of her houses and she visits often to see that people aren't turning them into pigsties. She is quite particular about who she lets stay at her properties, and doesn't renew the contracts of people who are lazy slobs/noisy/inconsiderate/etc.
