Also, no one corrected TC - the exam has 35 questions but it is not 35 marks.
There are 30 2 mark questions, and 5 3 mark questions.
That means it's out of 75, not 35, which makes it seem much more doable.

Quoting Avenue:
"The exam will consist of 35 multiple choice questions. The style and format of the exam will be the same as Test 1 and Test 2. There will be 27 questions for 2 marks and 8 questions for 3 marks."

Lol well whatever, I'm not even in first year >_>
But yeah, the point is - not 35 marks ^_^
However, I must say, more 2 markers is far better than more 3 markers, so 78 marks is worse than 75 in this case.

Personally, I disagree..but that's from the experience from the two midterms. I was able to get all the 3 mark questions right this term. Lets hope my streak continues into the exam.

Well, I mean generally the point is 2 markers are relatively simple, and 3 markers require more effort and expertise.
Our 1AA3 3 mark questions last year were insane - I bet I would still only be able to get 1 or 2 out of 5 of them now, 8 months and 1 semester of organic chemistry later.

Good Luck- study hard... go over all the class notes, then do ALL the tutorials - and try the midterms... make sure you understand why each answer is what it is. You'll be fine. Dont Stress
again... Good Luck!

Was your exam worth a lot or something :S? How'd you end with 11 if you were failing? And that is extremely impressive.

In first year I only passed one Chem midterm with like a 68ish, and truth be told, dunno how I even passed the exam - but I did. Just feel confindent in yourself, remember it's all memorization so just try to read over your notes 2-3 times, and do practice problems!! (I didn't do the later too much, hence my terrible mark). But yeah don't worry, you'll pull through!

Well you see, the chem department is extremely nice. If you do exceptionally better on ur exam then you did on he midterms, they change the weighting around. I didn't question my mark, but Im sure they must have done something like that. I had a 42 on the first midterm and a 48 on the second, and i got perfect on the exam, so I guess they figured i did know my stuff. Chem department is really good with that, and also they bellcurve the exam- even though they say they wont.

They adjust if need be, they don't bell curve.

My only advice is to hit Jeff Landry with a pie after you're done your exam. I've wanted to do that for a very, very long time.
