Chem Bio 2P03
I was wondering if anyone has taken chem bio 2P03 along with chem 2oa3 (organic chemistry). Would you recommend doing 2P03 in third year or to do it second year? I'm just worried it might be a lot of work because I'm taking orgo as well... thanks!

I haven't, but I will probably be doing both this year.

I also imagine that plenty of people have done it. Before they changed it this year, chem bio 2P03 and chemistry 2OA3 were both required courses so pretty much every biochem has done it whenever chem bio 2P03 was offered first term. It's definitely doable. Just put in the work and you'll be fine.

Actually, I hear 2OB3 is the same in difficult as 2OA3, if not even a bit harder. So yes, it's doable since many many people have done an orgo simultaneously with 2P03.

It's required for a few different programs to take them together...it's not at all unreasonable.

The average for the course was really high last year iirc, something like 81 or 82%. The quizzes really help bring up the marks. The in-classes mc tests aren't too bad either but we got quite a few "trick" questions that could be answered if you simply payed attention during class.

Most people took these two together if they are in Chembio or Biochem. In Chembio it was because 3P03 (a 3rd year course) requires 2P03 as pre-requisite. Also, 2P03 isn't offered in the summer like Orgo is. A sturdy option though is taking orgo early (the summer before 2nd year). Lots of people found that more relaxing.

Take them together is my advice. Most people survived, you just have to put the time in.

Chem Bio 2P03 is nothing compared to Chem 2OA3 (and relatively easy compared to other 2nd year science courses). You get easy marks all over the place, and don't need to spend too much time on it - budget more of your time for orgo.
