For the Course Chem 1A03, who would you prefer having between Emslie & Dumont.

They're both good, but I think a lot of people prefer Emslie.

I haven't had those two professors, so can't give you a solid recommendation.

But if both of them fit your schedule, I would suggest perhaps going to both professor's lectures during the first week (since your week will be quite empty without labs/tutorials anyways) and deciding for yourself which one you prefer. Everyone has personal preferences, so better to see for yourself who you want to go with.

I haven't heard of Emslie but I did have Dumont. Wasn't my favourite chem prof ... at times he couldn't control the noise levels of the class but kept on going which made it hard to hear him. He would rush at the end of the class and compared to the other cores/sections we seemed a little behind. But he was approachable when asking him questions before/after class.
