Class on January 3rd?
I know that the semester officially starts on January 3rd but do we actually have class on the Monday? I know for most people because New Year's Day is on a weekend the Monday is a stat holiday.

Almost positive we start class on the Monday.
You can always check online though. I'm simply too lazy.

Yes, the handbook we get at the beginning of the year says classes start on January 3rd. However, you can always call the morning of and double check.

Just because the stat holiday is on the weekend doesn't mean the Monday is one . The company can decide to give Monday off/extra pay but they are not obligated too.

Um, if the employees are entitled to a holiday with pay then the company is obligated to either give the day off or if they request for their employees to work that day then they have to pay them premium.

Your point? I get the feeling this is suppose to argue what i said before but what you said is what i said. I said t he company can decide to give Monday off/extra pay but they are not obligated too. Please note the extra pay refers to extra pay on the Monday. I didn't say they didn't have to give a premium on their weekly pay check.
