Commerce Summer School
Does anyone know a good course to take for summer school? I kind of want to lessen the load because apparently it's a pretty tough year. Thanks!

I've had friends say finance is hard... Many take an accounting course or get rid of 2ba3/2bc3 in the summer.

finance is good to take.

accounting is awful if you dont like it. managerial accounting is a lot better than financial, the prof (giri) is unreal at teaching + no book required.

2bc3 and 2ba3 are Organizational Behaviour and HR, which are both heavy theory and regurgitation classes. 2ba3 lends a lot of its knowledge towards 3s03 (50% of it this class is repeat of 2ba3)

The most "difficult" courses in second year are 2FA3 (Finance) and 2X03 (microeconomics). People find these courses difficult because they are replete with mathematics. I did not find them tough, these would alleviate your course loads, I would say.

If you take 2X03 in the fall, MAKE SURE YOU TAKE IT WITH BRUCE. He makes his tests (almost exclusively) quantitative. All you have to do is memorize the mechanics of how to do a question (he provides a lot of practice), and you will be good to go. I got a 12 with little trouble. Just make sure you take some time at the beginning to hone your math skills (review calculus, order of operations, manipulation, etc).

Hope this helped.

on that tangent, demidova is also good for 2x03, and ivanov is an absolute nightmare.

Holmes is good at economics 2x03 and take ob and hr with yousofpour this summer if possible so you'll get less workload than the regular year in terms of the assignment. However, just memorize and understand the concepts on the lecture notes though because the midterm and final exam is mostly based on definitions or just straightforward from the lecture notes.

I took OB and HR in the summer as electives, and did substantially better then my friends who took them during the regular school year, where there were a lot more group activities and presentations.
