Summer School, 2nd Year Commerce
Hi, I'm nearly done first year of commerce and I am looking to take summer school. I have 3 questions:

1. How many summer school courses should I take? There are two terms, should I take 1 course each term, or two courses each term?

2. What courses should I take? I am looking to take Econ 2X03 as one of the courses.

3. What are the required courses for Level II Business?

Lots of people seem to ask this, financial accounting and 2x03 are the big ones people seem to take

how many is up to you, 1 course is a light load, 2 is pretty heavy

here are the required courses: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calenda...08/sec_183.htm
you do NOT need to take 2SB3 before you graduate, no matter what rumours may be flying around

Yup, Fin Accounting and Micro (2X03) are good to take over the summer as they both have alot of work attached to them. Fin. Accounting is tricky if you didn't do any accounting in High School (I didn't) and Micro has Economic Calculus (it's actually not that hard, but can be time consuming to memorize what goes with which type of graph).

If you want, you can always take your non-commerce elective over the summer as well to free up more time during the school year.

Unfortunately financial accounting is full and I won't be able to take it over the summer but I took accounting in high school so I'm not too worried about it, but I wanted to ask if taking 2 courses in one term for summer school is too much work.

It definately depends on what else you're doing for those six weeks.

If you're working close to 40 hours a week it would be really, really difficult. If you're not working at all it's quite easily manageable.
