HELP with summer school and 2nd year program!!!
Hi,

I'm in a bit of a bind right now as I didn't do very well in my first year and now I'm paying for it by having to make up a language course. I decided to take two courses in the summer and I have enrolled in them now.

My problem is that I don't think I will be able to make it into my 2nd year program with my CA right now and that is why I wanted to take the summer school courses.

I wanted to know is there any way for me to apply to my 2nd year honours program in january or do I have to wait another year to apply?
My options are:
1) take the 2 summer courses and get at least a 10 in BOTH of them in order for me to get into the 2nd year program in September.

2) take 1 summer course and take some courses that will help to get into my 2nd year program in january. (although I am not sure I can apply in January... someone please clarify this for me!)

3) take random courses for first semester and then wait until september to apply to 2nd year

I'm not 100% sure what I can do... If #2 is allowed then I will do that.
But I'm not sure I can handle 2 summer courses in 1 term and I'm working in July/August as a camp counselor so I can't get out of the job anymore.

If anyone can help me, please reply..
*** have to keep course or drop a course by 4pm.. which is in 30 mins!!!***
>_<

You are able to reapply at the end of your 2nd Year for the program of your choice. As long as you have all the prerequisites and the minimum CA to enter, you're good to go, even if you didn't make it this year.

Just make sure that your program doesn't suddenly add any new mandatory courses in order to be accepted into your desired program, because some programs are in the middle of reshuffling and/or course name changes.

What I would do is just shadow courses that you would regularly need for the program and reapply at the end of 2nd year. To the best of my knowledge, no one can really apply next January.

Hope this helps!

ok so you're basically saying that since I cannot apply for my 2nd year program in January, I should just take courses that would help with my program and help boost my CA so I could get into the 2nd year program next year.

You would not necessarily be in a "2nd year program" next year, but if you don't make the cut off for honours program this year, you can apply to be in an honours program at the end of your second year. If accepted, you'll be a third year honours program student.
