Comparison of Honours Biology Programs
Hello everyone. I'm currently trying to decide on which stream to apply for in second year, and I'm deciding between honours bio, molec bio, and bio with physiology specialization. Basically, I'm wondering what the major difference is between the physiology specialization and regular honours biology? Also, do all three programs basically give the same degree in the end? I've heard that honours bio is very general, and it is often compared with honours life science. If I were to choose either of the two, which would be recommended? I'm not really thinking about medical school at the moment, but graduate school is certainly one of my goals.

I'm curious to why you would think that (planning on doing physio most likely)

Physiology was fine. There's a lot of information, but if you're smart you can study selectively and still do really well.

The 4th year thesis was brutal, but it really depends on your supervisor and project. Some people found their thesis really easy. I think it's worthwhile if you're interested in graduate school in a reseach setting.

Overall, you get the same degree and often there's a lot of overlap between the people who take your courses. Honours Bio and Honours life sci are essentially the same thing.

I liked physiology, it was hard work but i enjoyed the smaller seminar courses. I think it prepared me well for grad school though I would have liked more anatomy
