The National's playing the ACC On December 8th
Cobra Skulls are at Hard Luck Bar on October 8th
Frank Turner and Andrew Jackson Jihad are playing at the Phoenix on October 28
and for the prog/mathcore/stoner metalhead in all of us, Mastodon/The Dillinger Escape Plan/Red Fang are at the Kool Haus on November 25

Effing GWAR is playing and guess what happened?! One of my prof moves his midterm to the night of

I really wanted fake blood sprayed on me.

Also, Dragonforce is playing in October. It's a special up close and personal show where they play some new stuff with their new singer before launching a world tour next year.

Marianas Trench is playing a Canadian Tour along with Simple Plan in February.

But more importantly, they're playing at the ACC at Feb. 19th =P

The only reason I know both those bands is because they were featured in Guitar World. Periphery is a pioneer of "djent" which is some crazy-ass type of math-speed metal. If you've heard of Meshuggah the style is similar.

The Aristocrats has Govan who is supposed to be some kind of guitar prodigy.

Thanks for posting that they are playing I might so see them.

Also, Mastodon in Toronto in November. Their new album "The Hunter" ruleeeeeees.

Yeah Periphery is definitely something new in the music scene.. I wouldn't really call it math-speed metal, and djent isn't really a genre, it's a sound. And yeah they're very much inspired by Meshuggah.

I'd also like to see Govan, one of my favourite guitarists!

I've never really checked out Mastodon though, probably would like them, thanks for the tip
