conditional acceptance
Hey eryone,
I was accepted conditionally to the enviro and lifesci programs for level II, but I failed one of the prereq courses (according to degree augit)...
is there anything I can do to still get into the program? Or am I pretty much screwed?

thanks

You can try talking to the academic adviser and see if they can waive the pre-requisite. If you have a pretty decent GPA I don't see why they wouldn't let you in. If it's only one pre-req you need and they won't waive it, just take it this coming term and shadow your other courses. You can then officially register for the program in year III.

I doubt they'll do any of that-my CA isn't great (mediocre) so I seriously doubt it'll be waived.

A little background-I'm currently in the faculty of Humanities and I got into lifesci for level II, conditional on me passing bio math and enviro. I passed bio and I'm currently doing enviro but I failed math so I don't know what I can do to still get in. Shadowing any/most science courses needs me to be in the faculty of science (which I'm not currently) so that'll be tough...

Talk to an adviser is the best advice. They might not let you in because you failed a course since some programs require you to pass all the courses first.

at the very least, they might be able to admit you to "science"...so like, you're in the science faculty but not in any specific program. Or you could stay in humanities and try to get waivers for courses that you have the prereqs for but are in the wrong faculty. I really don't think there's that many, but take a look at the ones you want to take and see if being in humanities would really hurt.
