Confused as to which Undergraduate Calendar to follow
So I'm just getting ready to Register for courses and making mock timetables. I noticed that there are two undergraduate timetables :S.

I am going into third year Elec Eng. When I was in first year, I was looking at it to see what courses and stuff I am going to have to take. That was the following one:

http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1213.html

Now according to the new one there is this new change in third year, where we are to take ENGINEER 2B03. The new one I am talking about is :

http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...12/pg1213.html

So I just want to confirm with someone about this. I'm pretty sure that we have to stay on top of the changes they make to the courses we have to take.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Go by the 2011-2012 calendar (second one) it's the most up to date

yea, I'm following that to be safe, but I'm just a little worried; I have 6 courses in term 2 :|

And my mock timetable is looking a little too intense :(

If in doubt, always follow what listed in your degree audit

I would say follow the latest undergrad calender but try emailing an academic advisor to make sure, because I do know that for some programs that they changed the mentioned that anyone admitted into the program before could still follow the previous outline, but I would definitely email an academic advisor just to clarify they, usually, know their stuff xP

Imho, taking less courses per term and extending your degree a year is better than this overloading nonsense they have us do.

ya definitely e-mail them because I think if they add something to your program after you are past that year you should not be required to take it.

I would just like to emphasize this. You can't go wrong by following your degree audit.

Just follow Degree Audit on MUGSI. Its always right, and updated to reflect changes.

I actually sent a similar email about new courses and if they would be on my course list. Within a week or so the audit changed to reflect it.

Does the degree audit list the courses you're supposed to be taking or something? *is sure she's missing something*

Yup, if you go to your degree audit, below the list of your grades there's a section that lists the required courses for your degree.

Faer says thanks to amr1251 for this post.

Problem is Faer, among others (and including me), just finished her first year and has yet to pick a major, so it won't list anything :(

You will be following the requirements for the year you entered the program, so if you are going into level 2 this year (11-12), you should follow the 11-12 calendar.
