Convocation Guest Limit??
So I just got an e-mail saying that I will only receive 3 tickets for my convocation.. I was just wondering if anyone knows how strictly this is enforced, I am a little confused.

Last year my boyfriend graduated in the afternoon science ceremony (the one where the power went out) and he never received tickets beforehand and all 10 of his guests, including me, got in.

so...do I bring my 5 guests and hope they get in or is there no way?

That depends- I believe guests without tickets are only let in after 9am (or another set time; I'm not sure exactly) and at this time, if there are still seats in the hall then guests without tickets can have the leftover seats. Also, before this time, guests with tickets are guaranteed seats, but afterwards they are not- anyone can take the last seats until the halls fills up.

That's exactly what it says at the bottom of the email:

Please arrive on time. After 9:00 a.m. for morning ceremonies and after 2:00 p.m. for afternoon ceremonies, tickets will no longer guarantee a seat for guests in the Great Hall, and guests will only be admitted if space is available.
