hey quick question! A number of people(esp in Socsci/Humanities) are currently in one faculty but will switch faculties in their second year if they choose a certain major on the list. Eg: A socsci student with Phil/Polisci double major becomes a hummer. So how do they know which date they can pick courses on?

I believe it is dependent on the major you choose in SOLAR when they make you choose between 1st and 2nd Year. So in that case, the student's picking of the Humanities major would designate the June 23rd date.
As usual, someone please verify!

As I've been advised previously, the best course of action would be to contact the faculty themselves - if not, just see if it opens for you on the 23rd.

Lol, 1 minute doesn't make that much of a difference. I'm sure most people will be refreshing well after midnight as well.

You pick your courses, then when SOLAR closes it will put you in random sections. When it reopens you can change your sections to the ones you prefer is space permits.

Didn't they say like 2 years ago that we'd be able to choose our core sections and tutorials as we liked?

They allowed everyone to pick sections and tutorials for 2007-2008. Last year they went back to the no choice system, and I assume it is the same again this year.

Dear God, I thought we'd be able to choose what core section we want right away. Le sigh.
