So is it possible to be enrolled in two classes if there is a conflict (and just alternate between which class you attend/get notes off a friend)? Or will SOLAR just not let you enrol in them?

No, you can't do this because what if the exams take place on the same day? You'd be screwed because you can't do both exams.

No, you're not allowed to do it as you are expected to attend all classes...and a conflict would certainly prohibit that.

Please remember, setting up your MAC ID takes a few (business) days to process. It is June 21st, and course selection starts for first year students on JUNE 30TH. So get your butts in gear!!

Lorend

I will be a first year student starting in the fall of 2008. Is June 30th the first day I can select my courses?

makent0012, if you are in Science or Arts Sci, yes. If you are in one of the other faculties it will be a different day. If you go to this link, you can see who picks when.

Hey I want to ask for first years, are we allow to pick a second year course (PSYCH 2E03) if we meet the prerequisites? Thx!

You can, but I wouldn't suggest it. I took a second year course in first year and found I was quite unprepared. There is a lot of assumed knowlege that you are supposed to develop while in first year.

You have four years at Mac...you don't need to take second year courses immediately, even if you meet the prereqs.

If the course is open/ you meet the pre-req's then yes, you should have no problems getting into it.

However, you might find yourself over your head with the workload/ethic and course material depending on what course you're planning on taking. I would suggest speaking to the prof who usually teaches that course and getting his/her personal opinion on the matter.
