What courses do I need to get into life sciences?
I'm currently in gr 12, and I'm going to be applying for life sciences.

The courses I took are as following

.Chemistry
.Physics
.Advanced Functions
.Calculus and Vectors
.English
.Biology

My main question here is, how important are physics and Calculus? I've heard people say that I don't need physics but I am not sure.

i was in life sci during my first year, i strongly recommend taking physics. You will have to take 1L03 at mac and the prof Reza Nejat, is an absolute nightmare. I had a limited background in physics and ended up having to get a tutor because he couldn't teach. calculus on the other hand, at mac is 1F03 and is taught by Mclean. I loved his teaching style and did well in his class. So take physics, Grade 12 calc at mac is probably easier then it is at your school. Second semester you will take calculus 1lS3 which was a big joke.

Generally your top 6 courses will be taken into consideration.

And no physics is not required for life sci.

Physics is required, most second year programs require the completion of physics 1L03/Physics 1B03

i know but if he doesn't take physics in high school, he will have to take 1L03 to go onto second year and most life sci students intend on going to medical school. Most medical schools require a year of physics.

Also:

Cost of Grade 12 Physics = 0$
Cost of University's equivalent of Grade 12 physics = 500$
