courses per semeter
I have a quick question, how many courses must I have in total? and how many courses are per semester?

If it is 5 per semester, do I HAVE to have 5 per semester or can I have 4?

You don't have to take a full course load. But for most programs it's typically 30 units.

That's true too, but then you would need permission to overload.

Weird, when I was registering for courses it said I was allowed to overload with 6 units. I would try to register more, but I think my 7 day period is up.

You also don't need permission to take more than 5 per term if you're in engineering.

Well I know I deffinitely can't overload, SOLAR doesn't let me and I've read on here on many occasions how permission is needed for many programs. Also, by overload I mean 5 courses plus another course with units.

Yup, you generally need permission from your department and a CA of over 7.0 to overload. It's not that big a deal, you just go in, get a form signed and they update your SOLAR requirements for you.
