Courses in the States
I was wondering if it would be possible to do courses in the US during the summer, & receive credit for them at McMaster as part of my degree? thanks.

Probably. Just like with taking courses at other universities in Canada, the course you take in the States would have to be equivalent to the course required in your degree. You would also have to go through all the steps such as a permission letter (or whatever it's called) as well as getting the course approved by your faculty.

I would contact your faculty though, to ensure that the course has an equivalent and to get permission like Jeremy said. Also, note that when you take courses outside of Mcmaster you don't get a grade for them (only from the school where you took the course), you just see it as "completed" on your McMaster transcript.

The above link tells you which are the McMaster Equivalent courses if taken outside of Canada. No US university features in this list. I would say it is a possibility, but not a definite yes. So you should definitely talk to the academic counselor.

Yeah, but those are just the confirmed equivalents. McMaster doesn't go through other universities' course list and compare it with theirs. They only check for equivalent courses when they are asked by the students. So it's possible that students just don't ask for US courses, the reason being they are ridiculously expensive. I think they go around 1k per course for national students, so for international students... well :\
