Courses you Wish You Had?
Let's have some fun. What courses/subjects/whatever do you wish we had? Some universities have things we don't and vice versa.
I'd love to see a paleontology course...hell, even a MENTION of a dinosaur here or there would be nice, because I know way more than I should about them. Even Physics was briefly bearable when we had to discuss why Chomper had a better moment of inertia than Littlefoot.
Also, an ornithology course would be nice (looking at you, Quinn), for the lulz.

I wish there was a course on the sociology of religion, that would be really interesting.

Also a course on creating synergy between science and writing (i.e. fiction)
For those of us with brains that are stupid and won't let us stick to one thing entirely

Philosophy of mathematics courses would be cool. I mean, there's a program called 'Math & Philosophy', but there aren't really any particular courses for that program - eg. Math & Biology has the mathematical biology course, Math & Physics has a whole bunch of courses...

Kind of mentioned above already. But I wish we had a Criminology course as well as a science-y writing course. Totally agree with you about paleontology as well

I agree about a course about dinosaurs.. I would LOVE that. But I guess if you're into paleontology and stuff like that, you'd be inclined to go to a specific school that specializes in it.
I would love to see some animal courses. I think there is one course dealing with animal behaviour, but you need a bunch of psych prereqs or something like that. I would die to take that course!! It would be so interesting.
My first degree was in Political Science and the lack of variation in courses was painful. There was so much "Politics of the Third World", "Politics of the US", "Politics of China", etc. Those kinds of courses get old FAST. I had one course in second year called Force and Fear, which dealt with torture in politics a long time ago and how fear is used in politics today. I would love more courses like that.

I wish we had a course on sexology. It'd be really amusing/interesting, and people would actually study the material.

I believe there's a 3rd-year Psych course along those lines.. Human Sexuality. Not the same, but close enough

I took a course called Philosophy of Religion (Philosophy 3H03). It wasn't exactly about sociology, but you might like it! I think the prereq was 6 Philosophy units.
Plus, the prof looks just like John Oliver from the Daily Show/Community, so that was fun.

Yup, there's also sociology of sexuality and human sexuality in the social context which is a social work course. Neither course was offered this year, I'm really hoping one of them are next year.
