Dude, quiet.
Every single person on this message board should embrace the democratic process. If anyone deserves to be looked down upon, it is those who choose not to go out and vote.

Results are not in yet. From what I've been told, they will be in at around 8pm.
I have no solid source for that though.

Thanks! I had heard it from a colleague, and they were unsure themselves.
I wouldn't be surprised if it comes in a bit late, it looked like there were still people voting a bit after 5 when I walked by the office.

Its around 8:15 now so I guess they're still counting.
I hope this means there was a good voter turn out over the last few days.
Either way the vote goes I'm just glad the union membership had the opportunity to decide for themselves what they think of the deal they're being offered.

I suppose so.
I'm diligently checking my email in case the results are sent to us even moments before they go up on the blog.

Posted a few minutes ago!
"Members vote to ratify the latest contract: 58% to 42%. The strike is over. Back-to-work protocol to be negotiated tomorrow."

"CUPE expects 'no' vote"
Looks like CUPE is out of touch with their membership. What a surprise... :p

Again.
Earlier in this whole strike business it was revealed that the same thing happened in 2006 with CUPE and the TAs. CUPE advised their membership NOT to accept the University's offer, membership accepted it and CUPE looked foolish.

How about : And the rich get richer...
Who wants to put money on the administration getting a raise this year! Oh wait... I won't have any after I pay for the tuition increase, and those new contacts/glasses I desperately need to see...
