Can I obtain a transcript that only shows my 1st year marks?

(i.e. transcript omits upper years of university)

Nope. An official transcript shows all your marks.

You could always cut and paste from your grade reports, though.

No... unfortunately not. It'll show your most up to date marks for all your courses, etc. when you request a transcript. The only closest thing you could have done was have gotten a transcript shortly after finishing first year. However, the date issued will also be printed.
