Hey, it's usually an upper year student who sets up a hub, and then the details are spread. The upper years only move in on Monday (IIRC), so it definitely won't be up until then. Chances are, it will take another week, maybe 2 or 3. As for physically connecting to the hub once you know the details, I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it gets listed on those hub list things, maybe you have to do it manually... Chances are when you find out the details, whoever tells you will be able to tell you how to do it.

I've heard that there's actually one already up and running, since some upper years have already been moved in for some time (i.e., staff). Whether or not this will be the "official" one I don't know (since I'm no longer on campus), but I'm pretty sure you'll know about it by the end of this week - word spreads fast. Once you know the address, you'll have to manually enter it - it won't show up on the public hub list. In the meantime, go out and get crazy with Welcome Week stuff - you have 8 months to download your heart out, but you only have one WW

machub.dyndns.org

just remember that dc++ isn't affiliated with UTS or the school in general. "enjoy at your own risk" as they say

So apparently DC++ is currently up and running.

I have no idea how to access it or use it, however. But that's what I've heard from some first year students.

Enjoy!

I might run a hub at McMaster..right now I am home so I might come back to rez tomorrow nite, and maybe within this week I will tell you guys what is the hub address...btw someone said torrents are slow or they don't work..all I can tell you guys is that you are very wrong lol. I downloaded a 7 gb file of torrent at average speed of 4 mb/sec at Mcmaster this past week..but it was a private torrent site so I can't give anymore detail. Anyways I will post more details on dc++ related hub later this week. If you guys have any questions about dc++ or torrents feel free to ask me .

There's actually a hub already up at machub.dyndns.org
Right now there are about 102 users sharing 4 TB of files.
