It seems like I did everything right, but I still can't get in. I'm getting this message:
"A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond."
Any ideas?

Apparently machub.org works too now. Just wanted to let you know so you wouldn't waste time typing "dyndns." in there.

That can happen by each of the following ways:
a) Someone is logged in with the same username as you
b) You reconnected multiple times too quickly or the program crashed, and DC++ still sees you as logged in. Waiting about 30 minutes typically fixes it I think.

DC++ password help!
Hello macinsiders! I'm having trouble connecting to machub in DC++. I used to be connected fine, uploading and downloading worked. I had a concern with the audio quality of my downloads, and asked a question in the main chat box. Suddenly, after that conversation, I haven't been able to connect to machub! They require a password and I seem to have been banned! I have no clue what I did wrong, I'm very new to DC++ and file sharing in general. Any help would be wonderful, thank you all so much.

Alright, I'll explain why you were banned:
The admin told you about 10 times that he doesn't want you logged on with the username "Machub", since all that it does is confuse everyone. Therefore, go into your preferences and choose something else.
The 'password' is because he registered the name 'Machub' with some password nobody know so nobody can ever use it.
Moral of the story: Change your username.
