Deans' Honour List
If youre on the Deans honours list, do you recieve some sort of a certificate or notification? And, is there a way to find out how many people in a faculty made it on that list
Thanks

If you make it on to Deans Honours list, it will show up firstly under your grade reports on May 30th.
Around February, they also have an awards ceremony, and you will be presented with a certificate as well. If you don't attend, they just mail it to you.
And finally, your transcript will have a notation saying that you got it.

9.5 is the cutoff right? I'd be horribly disappointed if I missed it by .5 haha.

Trust Greg to know all about the DL
(You can also pick up your cert from your Faculty office if you don't want to wait for it to be mailed to you, plus things like that tend to get bent in the mail)

people that are on the list, are they likely to get scholarships other than the normal renewable scholarship that we get when entering from highschool.

Yeah, I assume that like if a scholarship has a requirement that you have a 9.5 or higher grade, then you're in the running for it. A lot of the scholarships/grants/awards that I've looked at have very specific requirements. You have to be in a certain faculty, program, done some extra-curriculars, etc etc. But it's a good idea or a picker upper to look at the requirements for them and see if you can work for them.

Most of the scholarships you don't have to apply for. There are some however in which you do have to apply if you want to receive it.

Oh wow this thread gave me such relief as for some odd reason I thought you have to get 10.0 to get on the Dean's List and I was dissappointed for the longest time since I missed it by 0.3. I guess not.

You're not the only one that thought it was 10.0...

There's a certificate? I've never received a certificate in the mail but have been on the dean's honour list for 5 years.

I would go talk to your faculty department. You definitely should have gotten one for each year.

I also have never heard of this certificate.
I wasn't on DHL for my first year, but every year since I have gotten it.
Are you sure the certificate is for being on the dean's honour list and not something else?
