So I was just reinstated this fall which means I'm currently on academic probation. If I defer an exam this semester, does being on probation have any negative effect on that? I'm asking because when you defer an exam the default grade you get until you write it is an F, and to stay in Mac I need to keep up a 3.5 gpa, which I wouldn't if I got an F. So would they know it was by default or would I get totally screwed over? Thanks !!!

I'm pretty sure the average that determines whether you stay is the cumulative average from September to April. You can probably double check this with your advising office.

Sounds like the system is set up so you're not allowed to defer with a low average while being on probation.
