I haven't had my wisdom teeth removed yet and I use the MSU coverage but I do know someone who has had theirs done.

The school covers only 2 wisdom teeth per year so if you need all 4 out you have to do it over 2 years.

She said she went to Ancaster Dental to have hers done and they have a free taxi service that will pick you up and drop you off wherever you want when your appointment is over. So hypothetically you could get it to pick you up where you live, and drop you off at Mac after you're done an appointment.

Ancaster Dental obviously isn't on campus so I'm assuming you can get your procedure done wherever you want and they will cover it. You may have to pay up front and then claim it and get your money back from the school insurance, but I'm not 100% sure.

The school dental plan also covers only 80% as far as I know so there may be something you have to cover the cost of.

The information about the MSU Dental Insurance Plan is here at the MSU website:

https://www.msumcmaster.ca/services/...geIncludes.htm

It looks like wisdom teeth removal is only 75% covered, and again you can only have 2 out per year.

From the looks of it you can go wherever you want to have your work done. You just need to submit a claim form after the fact to be refunded for 75% of the procedure.

Last edit:

-Check out the coverage page for information on coverage for wisdom teeth removal.
-The FAQ page says you can go to any Canadian dental office
-Make sure you carefully read the page about claims so you know how to be reimbursed for the procedure.
