How do Grad Schools Calculate Retaken Courses
Hey guys,

I know Mac only uses the average of 2 courses when calculating your cumulative GPA however, if you were to take a course again because it is a prereq for a grad school program (to improve the mark), would they just average the two, ignore one of the marks completely, or frown upon the entire thing all together?

I know each school differs however, what are some of your experiences with this? Thanks in advance guys!

This is a terrible question because you don't give us any information.

What program(s) are you talking about?

You answered your own question. Each school/program differs. You'd be much better off finding out the specifics for the programs you're interested in.

I can tell you, for example, that for a program I applied to, they only counted the more recent grade...but that is completely useless to you if you're not applying to the exact same program.

Ya i completely understand..the issue is that I am not even quite sure 100% what programs I will be applying for...I should have specified that some at US programs (which take CA...but ours is unlisted so I assume they would calculate it...and when they do, I wonder how they would calculate 2 of the same course)...i guess that always differs from school to school...to be honest though i always thought last 60 credits is most indicative of a students performance..but thats just my opinions..
