Do TAs fall in into the category of employees that get their some sort of parking spot or maybe parking fee reduction?

I never got employee parking (it was never discussed in my employment agreement) but I think it varies according to the department. I was in Life Science and did not receive it but I think other departments give it. Check with your supervisor directly!

Employees pay exactly the same as everyone else on campus.

I highly doubt professors have to pay the student rate for parking (if at all)

And you know this how? Yes they pay full price. Parking cuts no breaks for people other than those few reserved spots on campus for Deans, President and Provost.

As a TA I wasn't granted any special parking. The regular staff at McMaster also pay regular rates like everyone else.

Ah, I stand corrected then. But I'm assuming the parking costs just come out of the employees/faculty's payroll rather than having them actually go up to the machine every single day...?

You can have it come out bi-weekly off your paycheque or you can go and pay one time annually at the office. The only benefit employees have (not TAs, just faculty and staff) is that they are guaranteed a parking spot in one of the lots, there is no waiting list, but we most definitely pay full price.

I worked for an engineering consultant that worked on buildings for Mac. Even 15 years ago our engineers had to pay full price for parking, even though we were obviously going to bill it as an expense.

As a student you can get parking passes as well - you don't have to "go up to the machine every single day".
