I think just making time for fun and hanging with your friends is really important too

My two cents is: Find some manner of artistic release...
And then my other side says:
You're parents pay for your education???? Lucky, lucky, lucky...

I find it's best to do whatever you can to avoid stress in the first place. I try to get everything I can organized and planned during low stress times so that when everything gets crazy busy.
My class schedule, personal activities, workouts, meal plans and special events are all in a Google calendar that I can access from anywhere. I'll be spending time this week planning all of those things and putting them in there through to the end of the term so that I don't have to think about it while I'm studying/writing papers.
I keep a hard copy datebook with a schedule for when I need to do readings for each course, due dates, and blocks of time for working on different assignments. This will get filled in for the whole term the first week of classes once I get my hands on the syllabus and before anything is due.
I'm going to be making sure that all of my school stuff is organized in one place again before next Monday so that I never have to go searching for it. (Though my toddler does tend to grab things and hide them now... so we'll see how that goes).
tl;dr: Plan for the stressful times when things aren't crazy to prevent stress in the first place.

You can also access the Student Wellness Center and make regular appointments to speak with a counsellor. Having a space where you can talk about anything and have almost complete confidentiality can be very helpful for a lot of people

Not to derail the convo, but dude, PALEO? <3 That shit is awesome. My abs look great, fitness level considered, but I wish it didn't also affect my boobs. :(
I find cooking interesting and/or fancy food to be good for stress relief, but only when I have time. This obviously does not work during exam period and my other... methods are a bit more private.

Different things work for different people. For me, I get stressed out most when I'm on my own too much... too much time alone with my thoughts, etc leads back to years of anxiety disorders. For me, what helps most is spending time with good friends, carving out breaks in the day to hang out with those who help me to relax. Fortunately, my roommate is the best at that and she's pretty good about making sure I don't get too overwhelmed by anything. Whether it's meeting up for lunch, or a walk or a study break, it helps.
During crazy times, I think the key is to find an hour or so a day to just do you. Do whatever works for you... exercise, reading, baking, music, art, writing, prayer. It's different for everyone, but having some time to decompress is so important and I know my anxiety levels escalate when I go more than a day or two without some me time. During exams and other high stress school times, a friend and I have a tradition of meeting up for late night pita breaks and even just the hour away it gives me helps. My point is, figure out what makes you happy and do it, at least for a little while, everyday**.
**Does not apply if said thing that makes you happy is something immoral/illegal, in which case you should limit it to weekends.

You mean, shouldn't do it at all.

I exercise by jogging. It's really refreshing to do it outside when it's dark because it's generally quiet and it gives you the feeling that it's just you. No school, no parents, just you. I enjoy that when I run because I can be aware of myself. I live in westdale so I jog in the neighbourhood which is a great neighbourhood. You can also run on campus, at DBAC, or in your neighbourhood.
I also practice tai-chi which is in my opinion a form of meditation. I coordinate my breathing with my movements and that really helps me relax.
I watch A LOT OF ANIME and when I study too much, I take a break by going to another land in anime. I know it sounds weird, but imagination really is my best friend.
I have this one song that really calms my nerves. Listen to something that will calm you down.
I always study with music on, it keeps me calm.
I don't recommend coffee. If you can moderate your intake, then okay. But if you become dependent, it's not a nice situation.
Don't think about the pressure too much. I get stress from my single mother who pays for my education a LOT and I know where you're coming from. She's trying to push me to med school (of course, as all parents do). Easier said then done, but doesn't hurt to try.
I live with my friends from high school and being around them is enough to make happy. If you can, hang out with your friends and that will help you cope. Laugh lots. Go volunteer, JOIN SWHAT. I am part of SWHAT and we play a lot of card games while waiting for calls. Anyone can join. Volunteering will help you cope because you are helping others and that makes you feel good. I volunteered a lot this term and I loved it. I wasn't studying all the time. If I studied all the time, then I would be thinking about my studies only. But with volunteer, I was able to take a break from studying.
