Do you want trucks going through our campus?
Please read this, take action, and pass it on!
At a city committee meeting last week a motion to force McMaster to have all its construction trucks run through the centre of campus failed, which means it will be brought to a City Council meeting this Wednesday the 26th, where there is a good chance the motions supporters will find the support they need to have it passed. In short, for the safety of our students, this is bad. The sheer volume of students on this campus makes it difficult for any vehicle to make its way down University Ave., never mind the HSR buses that to date regularly injure students each year.
In response to this, the McMaster Students Union has initiated a letter campaign. Our webmaster, Sarah, and I, have set up a letter template, with a box to personalize, and info fields, on the MSU website with a submit button that will forward the letter to all the Hamilton city councillors. If you could all really encourage you volunteers, members, any one you know who is a student at McMaster to visit this page, as well as do it yourselves, well before Wednesday so that they can forward the letter to council, we'll be a big step closer to ensuring the safety of our students. This is shaping up to be a big issue for both students and the University alike, it'd be great to flex our muscle as students, and remind the city that we are also members of this community.
You can reach the letter either through the following link:

Or by visiting the MSU homepage and under the section that says
