Do the profs. start teaching the courses right away?
I will be on a family vacation and I won't be back until Friday (10th) evening...I'm worried that I might be really behind in the classes I will be missing.. :S

Depends on the class. Night classes are the most likely to start teaching the material. Some day classes will also start the material, but it depends on the professor and what they have planned.

Not unless you professor had told you so in class or via ELM. But the chances of tutorials and labs starting on a 2-day week is almost 0% (Those on Monday-Wednesday would be behind a week).

Most probably labs dont start, but if you skip it and it did happen, your screwed. Dont expect to get those marks back, ever.
