Does the courseware in psych 1x03/1xx3 changes every year? Should I buy used courseware or get new ones?

Profs routinely make changes to Custom Courseware. The Bookstore does not resell used courseware because it breaks copyright law. Each semester new copyright permissions have to be obtained and paid for on all courseware.

For information on McMaster University’s policy on copyright: http://cll.mcmaster.ca/resources/copyright.html.

Compliance with the Canadian Copyright Act is required by law. It is a criminal offence to knowingly violate copyright law.

Content-wise, I doubt it because the topics you learn will very likely be the same. The only definite changes are some dates for deadlines or the course schedule on the pages at the beginning of the courseware, which you could borrow from a friend if need be.

It may change enough to be an issue. I would suggest comparing the used and updated version before buying if possible.

Buy a used version if it hasn't been written in it; the differences are not noticeable enough to warrant spending the difference of price. There's always the chance, of course, that something awesome was added, or buying it is suddenly necessary because of a change in course (say you need to do an assignment that requires the new coursewear)

There's no guarantee that the courseware will be the same, even if the lecture material is. The same class can have different coursewares for each semester, if it is taught in both term 1 and term 2.
