I'm a little confused about the rule in the Residence Handbook. Does that mean that we're not allowed to get them to ship stuff from Amazon and Ebay to my mailbox? I was eyeing an item online but I don't want to get into trouble with the staff.

I'm pretty sure that rule is in there because items from eBay and Amazon get delivered via courier (in person to the front door). In Res, you cannot have people walking into the building and knocking on your room door (against residence rules). There also isn't really a way for them to meet you at a front door because there isn't a working intercom system in all (or any) of the residences. And McMaster Housing Services will not sign for anyone's packages.

Know anyone off campus? Try getting it sent to their place instead.

uh, pretty sure commercial purposes means you can't run a business from it. Since receiving a package isn't considered commercial. Ask your CA

He wouldn't be able to run a business from the mailbox, he wouldn't fit in it.

You should have no problem getting stuff shipped to the Service desk, I used to do it from websites when I was in rez and had no problems!

I'm a CA in res and that's exactly what it means. You can get packages delivered to residence even if a signature is needed.

Well I asked the residence office and they said it's alright to use stuff like Ebay.
