The first few weeks is worse than the rest of the year though. And if we've learned anything from SOLAR, its that you don't need to update something that only sees heavy use for one part of the year.

In the fall term, the bike racks fill up very quickly. If your class is in TSH, but the bike racks just outside of CNH and MUSC, and even BSB are full, there's no point in biking because you have to walk like half the distance of the campus anyway once you lock your bike.

In the winter, they are usually pretty empty. But they definately fill up in the fall.

The lack of bikes racks isn't really a hassle as I always lock it to the edge of a full bike rack or a nearby tree.

There are a lot more pro's then con's though.

It is quicker then walking, and when including wait time for the bus, it is also quicker.
I can get to the gym in 5 minutes compared to 25 minutes walking/busing.
I used to do that too, but I got a warning ticket. I locked mine to the railing/gate along the garden infront of University Hall, because all the surrounding bike racks (MUSC, BSB, Art Museum) were all full - and I got a ticket. :( It's like, what do they expect??

You know that there is actually a bike shop on campus?

its right under Pheonix

You can get your tires pumped. All the necessary tools are available for you to fix your bike and if you dont know how to, you can just ask anyone that is there for help.

and I just spilled milk and cereal all over my keyboard.. irrelevant but important..

i know sometimes the bike racks do fill up quickly sometimes... however when they are i usually park my bike at the edge of campus, where the bike racks are generally empty or have more space, and then just walk to whatever classes i have and pick up my bike before i leave. Our campus isn't that big so its not much of a walk. The point im trying to make is that there will always be a bike rack available.

I have a fear of being hit by a car while riding to campus.
Me vs. Car, Car will usually win.

I just wish that there were more bike lanes around this area.
