Wait, so the eligibilities for Hooker and Senate are already up? My MUGSI only shows my 2010 scholarship...

That sucks. I thought my GPA would have been good enough for at least something...

Yes, the Hooker one is for $1500 and the Senate is $800, I think? So I guess those that don't get the Hooker get the Senate?

No one's mentioned that they're eligible for the Senate scholarship, so perhaps that hasn't been released yet? So I guess there's still hope.

Only the top certain % of each faculty gets the scholarships (It's a low % too), so you basically have to compete with everyone else in your faculty

Assuming you're in Science... last year, they gave out 74 for Hooker and 204 for Senate. 16 only had the notation since they were graduating.

Oh...that makes a lot more sense now...

But yeah, hopefully eligibilities for Senate are still open.

so if you are eligible for the lyman hooker scholarship then you won't be eligible for senate?

Nope, It's like the top 5% get one, and then from 5% to 10% get the other. But not those actual percentages, I don't know what they are...

Really? That's balls. It's only $1,500 and they're making it so you have to have close to a perfect GPA just to get it.

This scholarship system is crap, I'm assuming health science's top 5% is somewhere around a 12.1 cutoff?

The Health Science faculty doesn't only have the health science program... they also have the Nursing, Midwifery, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomy Education and Undergrad Medical programs

Yeah, this much competition would be much more reasonable for a higher price. $1500 isn't much at all, really.

Assuming both that (i) it is indeed top 5% and (ii) they released 71 such scholarships for science last year, that would imply that there's only 1420 students in the whole faculty. I think it's a rather smaller group than the top 5%.
