Dropping classes? URGENT
Is tomorrow the last day to drop a class without a record on your student report card? If I drop tomorrow Sept -12th 2014, before 12:00am, will I get a record on my student report?

Tomorrow is the last day for you to drop courses without having to pay for them. But if you stay in a class and feel like you might fail it, you can cancel it up until November 7th without it appearing on you record. But you would have to pay for however long you took it.
Here's a link for deadlines: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /20142...tes-deadlines/
I hope that helps!

If it's after the drop/add period, then it will show up on your transcript and will say "CAN" beside it (cancelled). The Nov 7 date is the last date to cancel without academic penalty - this penalty is that you get failure by default, which means that if you drop the course you get a failing grade for it.

Tomorrow is the end of the drop/add period and the deadline for dropping a course without financial penalty. After tomorrow, you have financial penalty for dropping, depending how long you took the course for.

But it says here http://www.mcmaster.ca/bms/student/S...tion_UG.h tml if you don't drop it by tomorrow 12:00am, you will get an "CANC" or some blackmark on your record.

I am thinking of dropping it just 10pm tomorrow.

Also, just what is "Term 3" in the calendar you linked?

"Term 3" is a session-long course (i.e. a course that covers both fall & winter).

Yes, as I said in my previous post, it will say that it was cancelled. It's not a huge deal, especially if it's just one course. Having some financial penalty would be more important

Also, tomorrow at 12:00am is in 50 minutes...the deadline is by the end of the day tomorrow, so 11:59pm.
