Early Write for Exams?
It says on the mac website that exams are from Dec 7-21. I am going out of country on the 13th for a wedding. Can I write the exams early. Do the profs allow this? For first year Social Sciences student, do the exams usually go on until the 21st?
And also is going away on vacation a valid reason for early write or deferring an exam?

I want to know what my options are so please help me out.

Check http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /sched...examfinalb.php for your exam dates.. if theres still an issue, you would deal with the exams that you want to write early on a prof-by-prof basis... although I wouldn't exactly count on getting the goahead.... requires time to write an entirely different exam method/paper apart from 1) this year 2)exam required for people postponing their exam... so basically it may be extra work for the prof just for one student with a unique case.

Good luck though

You very likely have to write it at the time. Personal reasons do not count useless it is really exceptional (like you are in the hospital...etc). Certainly not for a vacation. Essp in first year, with the huge classes, they will be extra strict.

Even if you do get a deferral, it will be written during reading week.

I know someone who got an exam deferred due to an out-of-country wedding. You need to provide proof (ex, the wedding invitation), and you most likely won't be allowed to write early. Deferred December exams are written in reading week, so that's when you'll probably end up writing it.
