I cannot tell you anything about the room in particular, however, I can tell you that Edwards is one of the original 6 buildings on campus and has a rich history. Apparently back in the 50's Mac had a big rivalry with the Ontario Agricultural College (now Guelph Uni) Mac students went to Guelph and took their prized bull and put it in a residence and attached a rope from the bull to each door. Every time a student would open the door they would pull the bull towards them and then quickly shut the door.
Weeks later Mac started to prepare for retaliation and having heard rumors they began to police the campus. At one point in the night they found a Guelph student and chased him away. Having thought they had successfully defended the McMaster campus the students walked back to Edwards feeling rather heroic. As they approached Edwards they noticed that the lights were off and when they opened the door, there was sheep manure everywhere.
I hope the story helps provide some info on the history of Edwards and I will be living there too on the first floor.
P.S students used to run a barber shop out if it during the 60's and at one point it was the changeroom for the football team.
