Electives for Life Science students
Hey guys! I`m going into life sciences this september and I was looking at the undergraduate calender, and I saw that it does not say whether we do or do not have electives. Can someone tell me if we do have electives?

As a first year life sciences student, you have I believe 3 electives (correct me if I'm wrong). You need 3 of BIO 1A03/1M03 and PSYCH 1X03/1XX3 (most first years take both psychs and both bios anyways), both of CHEM 1A03/1AA3, one of PHYSICS 1B03 or 1L03, and one of MATH 1LS3 or 1A03. You have 3 electives left not counting taking the other psych. Most first years take both first year kin courses but that's entirely up to you

Technically chem 1A03 and 1AA3 aren't required courses...although I think it would be kind of dumb to not take them. I have no idea why they aren't required any more.

In my experience, most first years couldn't get a seat in the kin courses

Ahh my mistake, I forgot they weren't required xP. But it is a good idea to look at all the programs for 2nd year and to see which courses you could take so you could keep as many options (possible programs for 2nd year) open as possible.

Really? If it was a non science student, that makes sense but most science students had seats reserved for them for both first year kin courses.

1st year Kin 1y03/1yy3 are very popular, or Linguistics is really good too. I'd suggest looking at what most interests you because no matter how many people tell you something is a bird course/ good elective, if you personally don't enjoy it the subject, you prob won't do well in it.
